We heartily welcome the government’s acknowledgement of the role start-ups play in job creation. The government’s intention of playing the supporting role and that of an enabler is laudable and we are thankful to the for providing a series of policy initiatives and schemes in this budget that aimed at easing the hurdles that startups face in today’s market scenario. At first glance the budget looks promising and intended towards providing some very important steps around the ease of doing business, taxation and access to capital. Moreover,the announcement of 100% tax deduction for three years over a period of five years for start-ups approved before FY 2019 in this budget under the startup India initiative is highly encouraging. This announcement has definitely set the tone for the future development of startups in the country. Obviously, the government has created more flourishing environment for start-ups with the provisions in budget-2016.”
